Meet Bec

It’s, me, Hi. The heart and soul behind Sol Flare Photography. Born and bred in the vibrant city of Wollongong, I'm a proud Dharawal-dwelling, Illawarra girl with a zest for all things creative. When I'm not chasing after my 8-year old cut-and-paste of a tiny human as a solo mum, you’ll find me belting out tunes, messing around on my piano, or Cole Clarke….or banjo…uke (albeit with a touch of mediocrity there on the ukulele…work in progress babay!)

But all of that though, my true calling lay in capturing irreplaceable moments and turning them into heirloom art….for keeps.

After a 15-year-long career in marketing, I quickly realised the undeniable power of compelling imagery. The notion that a single photograph can narrate a story beyond words…be it of a brand, a family, or a couple on their wedding day…without saying anything at all. It absolutely captivated me. So naturally, I dove head-first into the world of photography, teaching myself the ropes and constantly striving to learn more. My Canon R5 cameras are all-but my other-other children… give me a story to tell, and this documentary-styled, gently prompted girly is right there with the ‘unofficial girlfriend of Instagram’ vibe.

I'm a bit of a wildflower with a penchant for the unrefined (aka- I can be a little wild and uncooth in my true ADHD form) and yes, I have a spectacular talent for tripping over my own feet. But hey, that's all part of my charm!

During our sessions, expect laughter, silliness, and a whole lot of fun. My goal is to encapsulate your story through genuine smiles, hearty laughs, and those magical, sun-drenched moments that happen in between.
